The Regina Cordium Praesidium

It is through the Most Holy Virgin Mary that Jesus Christ has come into the world,
and it is also through her that he must reign in the world.
(St. Louis de Montfort)

The Regina Cordium Praesidium of the Legion of Mary makes its home at the Center of the Association of Mary, Queen of All Hearts, in Bay Shore, NY.  We belong to the Rockville Centre Comitium of the New York Senatus of the Legion.  Like all good Legion of Mary praesidia, we are a group of faithful Catholics united under the banner and protection of Our Lady.  In her service, we seek to give glory to God by growing in holiness by means of an ardent prayer life and an active participation in the missionary labors of the Church.

We are a relatively young praesidium having held our first official meeting on January 8, 2014, following upon several months of formation in the Legion system by experienced Legionnaires from other praesidia.  Unlike most praesidia, we are not based in a parish.  Rather, we are closely associated with the ministry of the De Montfort Fathers who were instrumental in the original growth and development of the Legion of Mary in the United States and elsewhere and who oversee the spiritual work of the Association of Mary, Queen of All Hearts.

Specifically, the Regina Cordium Praesidium is dedicated to serving as a resource and support for the Legion of Mary in the Diocese of Rockville Centre and to working in union with the members of the Association of Mary, Queen of All Hearts to bring about the reign of Jesus through Mary in our world.  Our works include the promotion of the spirituality of St. Louis de Montfort, the organization of retreat days and workshops for members of the Legion, the gathering of news and resources for the benefit of our fellow Legionnaires, and the visitation of retired clergy.

Our praesidium meets each Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Montfort Fathers’ Center for the Association of Mary Queen of All Hearts – 26 South Saxon Ave, Bay Shore, NY.
