During the 202nd meeting of the Regina Cordium Praesidium which was held at The Montfort Spiritual Center of Bay Shore, NY; The Luminous Mysteries were prayed. The Spiritual reading was taken from the Handbook page 49-51 Chapter 8 titled: The Legionary and the Eucharist part 4 titled: The Eucharist, Our Treasure. The Allocutio was given by Father Hugh Gillespie concerning two feast days in January which are January 1, Mary, Mother of God and the Epiphany. Now that we are able to see the face of Jesus which was hidden in Mary’s womb, we turn to Jesus and therefore to Mary. Everything we Legionaries do is in the direction of Mary! At the Epiphany, we see that the Magi are also seeking Jesus. The Magi find Him but more importantly are prepared to give Him gifts that are appropriate to His Kingship. First, gold – to honor His Kingship and this represents our Legionary generosity. Second, incense – to honor God and as Legionaries we should practice more prayer and receive Communion more often. Third, myrrh – which represents the sacrifice of mortification and penance and is shown by our fasting and self sacrifice. Let us as Legionaries, try to be more generous, more prayerful, receive Communion more frequently, and practice self sacrifice by fasting and self denial. The Handbook assignment is Chapter 9 page 51-52. Our next meeting will be January 10, 2018 at 7PM.
