During the 200th meeting of The Regina Cordium Praesidium which took place at The Montfort Spiritual Center of Bay Shore, NY; The Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary were prayed. The Spiritual reading was taken from the Handbook page 45-47, Chapter 8 titled: The Legionary and The Eucharist, part 1, Holy Mass. The Allocutio was read by Mary from Theology of the Apostolate of The Legion of Mary by Leon Joseph Cardinal Suenens page 48-50 titled: Courage, A Marian Virtue. This section shows us many situations in which Mary’s courage abounds. When Mary made a vow of chastity, she risked disapproval of everyone in her life, for in those times such a vow was uncommon. When the angel came and offered her a virginal motherhood by the Holy Spirit, he asked her consent without telling her how she would be vindicated in the eyes of her peers, yet she answered yes in complete surrender to God. Although Mary knew the Scriptures and had read about The Man of Sorrows in Isaias, she knew even before the prophecy of Simeon that she would be linked to the Passion of her Son. As Mary stood alone at the foot of the Cross on Calvary, for all the Apostles had fled, her soul was united with the mystery of salvation enacted before her and she did not waiver in her acceptance of it for the sake of all souls. Let us then as Legionaries, draw inspiration from our Queen, that we may always have her fortitude and faith in all the works we do. The Handbook assignment is Chapter 8 page 47-49 Part 2 titled: The Liturgy of the Word and part 3 titled: The Liturgy of the Eucharist in Union with Mary. Our next meeting will be December 27, 2017 at 7PM.
