During the 199th meeting of The Regina Cordium praesidium which was held at The Montfort Spiritual Center of Bay Shore, NY; The Joyful Mysteries of The Rosary were prayed. The Spiritual reading was taken from the Handbook page 44-45, Chapter 7 titled: The Legionary and The Holy Trinity, the last section titled: Mary’s Relation to The Eternal Father. The Allocutio was read by Fran from Theology of The Apostolate of The Legion of Mary by Leon Joseph Cardinal Suenens page 46-47 titled: Courage-A Necessary Virtue. In this section, Cardinal Suenens reminds us that we are soldiers in the service of God and our courage is a special characteristic of Marian devotion. Blessed Pius X said that the greatest obstacle to the apostolate is the cowardice of the faithful. We, as Legionaries, need to have moral courage which is an integral part of our duty as Christians. The fact that Legionaries must do their work in pairs, makes it known that the work we do is difficult. We must remember that the Church has always carried out the mission for the sanctification of souls, always seeking to fight against social evils, knowing that these evils can be remedied by religious and Christian principles. Let us as Legionaries of Mary, imitate our model of the Roman Legionaries, who long ago fought bravely to protect the Roman Empire, just as today we fight with courage for the salvation of souls. The Handbook assignment is Chapter 8 titled: The Legionary and The Eucharist page 45-47 part 1 Holy Mass. Our next meeting will be December 20, 2017 at 7PM.
