During the 198th meeting of the Regina Cordium praesidium which was held at The Montfort Spiritual Center of Bay Shore, NY; The Luminous Mysteries were prayed. The Spiritual reading was taken from the Handbook, page 43-44 Chapter 7 titled: The Legionary and The Holy Trinity. The Allocutio was read by Mary from Theology of The Apostolate of The Legion of Mary by Leon Joseph Cardinal Suenens page 45-46 Chapter 5 titled: Apostolic Courage. In this section of The Promise we are reminded that we stand before Mary as both her soldier and child and that we are entirely dependent on her. As children, we are truly dependent on her, our mother, and her heart and ours are one. We are called to give ourselves up to God – in Mary- in complete abandonment to acknowledge His absolute supremacy. God says, “My thoughts are not your thoughts and my ways are not your ways.” We need to be docile souls through which God can work. Even though God is all powerful, He offers and requires our collaboration with Him. We must therefore not just give Him lip service in the form of a few hasty prayers. We must first pray and then act! Human action is for God what water is in baptism. It is the material for divine operation. We, as Legionaries, must pray and then act in order to serve God with courage as soldiers in the battle to save souls. The Handbook assignment is to complete Chapter 7 page 44-45, the last section titled: Mary’s Relation to the Eternal Father. Our next meeting will be December 13, 2017 at 7PM.
