During the 183rd meeting of the Regina Cordium praesidium which was held at The Montfort Spiritual Center of Bay Shore, NY; the Glorious Mysteries were prayed. The Spiritual reading was taken from the Handbook page 15-17 Chapter 4 titled: Legionary Service parts 4 and 5. The Allocutio was given by Father Hugh Gillespie concerning the role of the Spiritual Director who is and is not a member of the Legion of Mary. He is a point of contact between the Church and the Legion. He is the bridge from the Church to the Legion and from the Legion to the Church. The Spiritual Director attends Curia meetings and often there can be several spiritual directors in attendance. The Spiritual Director makes sure the Legion remains sound spiritually, morally, and theologically. All of the parts of the Legion need to be in unison. Each praesidium needs to carry on its meetings in the order as stated in the Handbook. An example of following the Handbook would be that during the praying of the Rosary at Legion events, Legionaries will not include the Fatima prayer. Let us pray that throughout the world, all Legionaries will follow and respect the Legion system which strengthens it and it’s works. The Handbook assignment is Chapter 5 titled: The Devotional Outlook of The Legion page 17-19, Introduction and part 1. Our next meeting will be August 23, 2017 at 7PM.
