During the 168th meeting of The Regina Cordium praesidium which was held at The Montfort Spiritual Center of Bay Shore, NY; The Joyful Mysteries were prayed. The Spiritual reading was taken from the Handbook page 325-326, Chapter 40 titled: Go Preach The Gospel completion of section 7. The Allocutio was read by Suzanne from The Theology of the Apostolate of The Legion of Mary by Leon Joseph Cardinal Suenens page 8 titled: Deference to the Action of God. This part of The Legionary Promise refers to accepting the will of God willingly and without question. We need to remember that God creates out of nothing and all self sufficiency offends Him. This is why we pray for the Holy Spirit to fill our empty hands and flood our souls with His grace. Ours is to pass on each grace received, each light, each inspiration. Our souls must be open to His action. We walk in darkness. Experience of the Apostles teaches us that the grace of God cannot be measured by a human scale of values. As in Job 38: 2-18, we are reminded that God’s ways are not man’s ways. We must remember that by ourselves we cannot render worthy service and therefore should not venture out into the unknown without a map. We may try very hard to win a soul for the Lord only to meet with failure, yet at another time a phrase not remembered by ourselves, may seem to lead that soul to God’s heart. Let us worship God in His darkness and love Him in His apparent refusals which run counter to our plans. In the end, His way is always best. Let us, as Legionaries, acknowledge that we are unprofitable servants so God will use us without hesitation. May we always be open to the inspirations of The Holy Spirit in all we do! The Handbook assignment is Chapter 40 Parts 8-10 page 326-328. Our next meeting will be May 10, 2017 at 7PM.
