The Glorious Mysteries were prayed.
The Spiritual reading was taken from the Handbook page 184-186 Chapter 32 titled: Objections Which May be Anticipated, Parts 1-2.
The Allocutio was given by Father Hugh Gillespie concerning true devotion to our Blessed Mother. According to St. Louis de Montfort, our true devotion should be interior. This in turn produces our exterior actions. The words “Who is she” in the Catena keep us focused on Mary’s purity and closeness to the Lord. How different would her life be from our own inconstant ways? We have a genuine love for Our Lady not because of what she does for us, but because she is so good. As Legionaries, our motivation is deeper than our promise, because we do our works for Mary; we know her, and she is worth our service. When we fix our eyes on her graces, this is true devotion and interior knowledge of Mary.
The Handbook assignment is Chapter 31, page 186-187 parts 3-5 titled: Objections Which May be Anticipated. The Study assignment is from Miracles on Tap by Frank Duff, Chapter 21 page 195-207.
Our next meeting will be August 26, 2015 at 7PM.
