Rockville Center Comitium April 19, 2015

Today at St. Matthews in Dix Hills the Comitium of Rockville Center held its monthly meeting beginning at 2PM. Fr. Brown, the Spiritual Director, lead the Rosary, with special intention for     Carole Mignone, a long- time Legion member, and secretary of the Patchogue Curia for six years. Carole was struck as a pedestrian by a vehicle, and has been in critical condition since. Prayers have been ask for her and her family.

Fr. Brown’s allocutio reflected on Legion members to be persistent in prayer. Prayers, if prayed with faith, are always answered; if not answered, it’s because God has something better.

Events in surrounding praesidia: On Sunday, June 7th, the Feast of Corpus Christi, at 12:30 PM Our Lady of Mt. Carmel praesidium, Patchogue, will be holding a procession of the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of Patchogue. Last year 130 participated in the walk. It was observed last year by Rob Constanzo president of the Praesidium, that a lady stopped her vehicle, got out, and knelt in reverence to Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

It was brought to the attention of all at the meeting that May is the start of the annual                  “one million” rosaries to be be prayed for the end of abortion.

Rob Constanzo president of the Curia used this opportunity to state that the Legion, worldwide, has twenty million members that pray the Rosary daily. He challenged all those present to say one extra rosary a day for the intention of an end to abortion.

Mary Refuge of Sinners Praesidium, St. Patrick’s, Smithtown, announced they will be holding its annual May Crowning on  May 22 @ 7:30PM.

Holy Name of Jesus Parish will be holding their May Crowning on May 8th.

Fr. Kline has accepted the offer to be the Spiritual Director of the Riverhead Curia.

Regina Cordium Praesidium in Bay Shore nominated Mary Scialabba for treasurer. This was seconded and Mary is now the treasurer of the praesidium. The praesidium also announced the upcoming programs, to be run at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Island. Starting Tuesday May 5th @7PM: 33 day Preparation of the Act of Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, according to St. Louis Marie De Montfort. Thursday May7th @ 7PM: Living the Consecration.  Fridays, in Spanish May 8th 33 day Preparation of the Act of Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, according to St. Louis Marie De Montfort. Also announced was the Regina Cordium website, www.reginacordium.org. The goal of the site is to post information on what other praesidia are doing as well as what the Regina Cordium Praesidium is doing. This will allow other praesidia the opportunity to participate and /or pray for the success of works being done by fellow Legionaries.
